A Message From Our President

Jon J.P. Warner, M.D.

This year NESES will hold it’s 8th meeting. As I enter my year as President of the ASES I can reflect with great satisfaction on the success and growth of our regional shoulder and elbow society in New England. This organization under the able stewardship of Dr. August Mazzocca, has been an annual forum for intellectual exchange in a collegial setting. In the process of meeting we regularly review our own experiences in the treatment of shoulder and elbow and subject these to critical introspection and investigation. This process allows us to constantly challenge one another to improve quality of care in New England.

Our growing membership is a testament to the value of this organization. Most importantly, in meeting annually for discussion and debate we have improved the value of shoulder and elbow care in New England and this has benefited all of our patients. Our initiative in the development of this society has been a model for other such regional organizations who seek to emulate our success. An example includes the Rocky Mountain Shoulder and Elbow Society. North, South, East and West, regional shoulder and elbow societies are growing, or are in the process of development through the efforts of a bright group of young motivated shoulder and elbow surgeons. My vision for the advancement of shoulder and elbow care is predicated on this grass roots effort to improve quality and value of care on a regional level. Such organizations actually act as an extension of the ASES in this mission.
