The New
England Shoulder and Elbow Society is a fledgling organization devoted to
the study and practice of upper extremity injuries and ailments. Based
at the University of Connecticut in Farmington, CT, the
Society is the brainchild of Dr. Jon J.P. Warner (Boston, MA). While
at a shoulder meeting in France, Dr. Warner, pitched the idea to a couple of
young, eager shoulder and elbow surgeons who ran with it and worked to bring his
idea to life. We felt that an annual meeting and a website were essential
to give our organization an identity and a presence. Both would also allow
professionals devoted to the care of the shoulder and elbow to gather and share
information and ideas. Within 13 months, we had both.
Our officers are made up of Dr. Robert Arciero (Farmington, CT), head of the Society, Dr. Jon J.P. Warner, head of the Shoulder section, and Dr. Andrew Caputo (Hartford, CT), head of the Elbow section. Dr. Carl Nissen (Farmington, CT) is our Treasurer. Dr. Gus Mazzocca (Farmington, CT) and Dr. Frank Alberta are responsible for the organization of the Society and the website.
Please feel free to look around the website. It is still in the development stage and we are continuously adding new features and information. We welcome your suggestions for improvement and new ideas.
